Easy Healthy Recipe #1: Simple Basic Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:

  • Coffee - 3/4 cup
  • Organic ketchup - 1 cup
  • Molasses - 1/4 cup
  • Orange juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoons
  • Dijion mustard - 2 teaspoons
  • Jalapeno peppers - 2

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients (coffee, ketchup, molasses, orange juice, vinegar, Worcestershire, Dijon, and jalapeno peppers).
  2. Heat and cook the mixture over low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickened. Cook for longer time if thicker sauce is desired.
  3. When done, let cool and discard chili. Barbecue sauce is ready to serve.

Ingredients:

  • Ketchup - 1 1/2 cups
  • Prepared chili sauce - 1/2 cup
  • Prepared steak sauce - 1/4 cup
  • Dry mustard - 3 tablespoons
  • Prepared horseradish - 2 tablespoons
  • Molasses - 1 tablespoon
  • Red wine vinegar - 1 tablespoon

  • Tabasco sauce - 1 tablespoon, if desired
  • Hot pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, add all the ingredients except hot pepper (ketchup, chili sauce, steak sauce, mustard, horseradish, molasses, vinegar, jalapeno pepper, garlic juice and Tabasco sauce). Whisk to mix well.
  2. Then add hot pepper sauce to taste.
  3. Serve.
